New report on 'Birds of Conservation Concern' in the UK

Cayton and Flixton Carrs area is a stronghold of an impressive array of Red and Amber listed bird species, as listed in the 2009 report on Birds of Conservation Concern in the UK.
A pdf leaflet summarising the report's findings can be found on the following link Birds of Conservation Concern 2009
Waders and wetland species such as lapwing, curlew, snipe, yellow wagtail and reed bunting are all found in Cayton and Flixton Carrs. Farmland birds which are also set to benefit from Stewardship schemes with the Project include tree sparrow, yellowhammer, linnet, grey partridge and skylark. Many HLS options are tailored to specific birds recorded on individual farms to make the most of the environmental benefits. How many more of 'our' local birds can you spot on the red and amber lists?
